Introduction

Henceforth,

A Painless Journey……..

In SRIMATHA CANCER CARE……….

Hospice is a project that has the objective to give relief to sick persons for whom the medical fraternity offers no scope for containing or curing the disease that has taken advanced stage in the patient. In the city of Chennai to our knowledge free palliative care centres do not exist for providing asylum to such terminally ill, discarded poor cancer patients. Such patients need and deserve better personal attention in the form of pain management, quality and nutritional food in addition to an emotional support. These patients do not have long duration to survive and their end is imminent may be by few weeks or few months.

Our Birth

It is in this context DR.(HON).D.VIJAYSREE, took the initiative and commissioned SRIMATHA CANCER CARE a free palliative care centre in April 2013 in a rented premises at Indira Nagar, Chennai. With God’s will and with the support of noble souls her continued attempt to acquire a own building of her hospice turned a reality by constructing a four story-ed building at Okkiyam Thoraipakkam, Chennai.

The new hospice building, besides accommodating 50 beds, provides free shelter, food, medical needs, pain management, nursing care and mental solace. Even last rites are performed to poor & needy as per their traditions, when they die and DR.V.DURAI our Trustee is in-charge of this great service.

This service of giving relief and solace to the poor dying cancer patients, is being managed only from and out of generous contributions from general public.

WE FERVENTLY SEEK EVERYONE’S CO-OPEARTION AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TOWARDS THE GREAT CAUSE!.

It’s sad truth that if they do not undergo the dialysis process at least thrice a week, they might even face death. In private hospitals, they charge Rs.5000 aa week to provide the services. how could a daily labourer can manage this royal treatment? it’s this concern that has been the cause for launching the free dialysis centre.

We have been providing free dialysis services with our ten new dialysis machines and our SriMatha Cancer Care Trust is spending Rs.1,250 to 1,500 per patient for providing the free dialysis services to these poor patients.
